Strategy/Concept

Our strategy is a two pronged approach consisting of a mechanical arm which will mount inside the slot and a car/lift that will be able to move on top of the arena. As you can see from the sketch model the arm can extend and retract and also rotate freely around the slot. We will use it to scoop balls to the other side and it can also be used as a barrier. The car will use the dual gear box to drive and steer and will carry the lift which it can lower into the slot. At the bottom of the lift is a "chinese finger trap" mechanism that should allow us to capture the heavier and harder to reach balls at the bottom corner of the slot. We hope that our 2-sided approach will give us an advantage in moving balls as efficiently as possible.
